LEGO Green Grocer (10185): het icoon dat modular geschiedenis schreef

LEGO Green Grocer (10185): The icon that made modular history

The LEGO Green Grocer (10185) is more than just a set. Since its release in 2008 , this set has become one of the most iconic and sought-after LEGO Modular Buildings ever made. For many fans, this is the moment when the modular line came of age, and honestly? You can feel it in every detail.

A milestone in the Modular Buildings series

Green Grocer was only the third official Modular Building , following Café Corner (10182) and Market Street (10190). While the earlier sets mainly experimented with scale and style, Green Grocer brought refinement: a realistic facade, rich textures, and an unprecedented amount of construction detail.

The combination of a greengrocer's on the ground floor and a stylish apartment above created a lifelike urban feel that perfectly complements contemporary (LEGO) cities.

That iconic green color

What truly makes Green Grocer legendary is the use of dark green LEGO bricks . In 2008, these pieces were rare, and some were even exclusive to this set . This makes the set not only visually unique today, but also exceptionally valuable for collectors.

💡 Did you know : Several parts from this set were difficult to find for years, which is why the individual bricks are still sought after today.

Full of details (inside and outside)

As befits a true modular, Green Grocer is full of clever details:

- A fully equipped store with fruit and vegetables

- A staircase that connects the floors

- An apartment with a kitchen, bedroom and fireplace

- A roof with chimneys and subtle finishing

Everything is designed for both play and display, something LEGO would later make standard within the modular line.

Why is Green Grocer so popular?

✔ Retired for years
✔ Limited edition
✔ Unique colors and parts
✔ Historical importance within LEGO
✔ Perfect to combine with other modular units

For many AFOLs, Green Grocer is the missing link in their LEGO city, and often the hardest to find.

Some sets disappear… others become legendary.
